It
(The P40) has over 500 flights on it and I recently
reburbished it.It
was originally in the Flying Tigers scheme.
It needed the batteries, switches, all airlines, engine ignition
replaced. I
decided to give it a new paint job as well. The
engine also needed new rings.
It has an Airtronics 10 ch Infinity radio, 3W inline 80, robart
retracts, 96 inch wing, 39 pounds and is from the Ziroli plans..
I have attached a few photos of both the original paint job
and the new one. The white tails were from the 49th FG and it
was common to have two sets of nose art on the plane. One for
the pilot and the crew chief picked the other one.
